Public Notice - ONLINE FILING OF AMUSEMENT GAMING TAX RETURNS

The Board of Inland Revenue (BIR) wishes to advise ALL Liquor Licence Holders under the Liquor Licences Act, Chap. 84:10, of the changes to the filing of the Amusement Gaming Tax Return:

      • Returns must be filed Online STARTING from Filing Period: 1 APRIL 2026 – 31 MARCH 2027.
      • All returns prior to this period must be done using the existing manual process.

CHANGES:

      • ALL Amusement Gaming Tax Returns will ONLY be accessed via e-Tax Logged In Service.
      • No longer will Paper Returns be accepted from the 2026 filing period.
      • All Licence Holders will be required to upload the necessary information and documents electronically, including number of devices on premises.

STEPS TO FILING AN AMUSEMENT GAMING TAX RETURN

      1. All Licence Holders MUST ensure that they obtain a ttconnect ID in order to gain access to e-Tax Logged In Service.
        2. This secure digital credential is necessary to register for e Tax Services and filing of the Amusement Gaming Tax Returns Online.
      2. Once the ttconnect ID is obtained users can access the e-Tax portal via the existing link https://etax.ird.gov.tt to file the returns.

FOR LICENCE HOLDERS WITHOUT A TT CONNECT ID:

      1. Complete the ttconnect Application Form online via email or by visiting anyone of the tt connect Service Centres, visit. https://www.ttconnect.gov.tt/ttconnect-service-centres/ for office locations and email addresses.
      2. Provide any two (2) valid forms of Identification. (Birth Certificate, Driver’s Licence/Permit, National Identification Card and Passport).
      3. Additional Information required: any one of the following documents for BIR number verification (Advice of Assignment of BIR Number and Account Numbers, Tax Clearance Certificate, Notice of Assessment)

Note: For email applications only – a selfie of the applicant holding one of their valid photo IDs is also required.
